USPTA show, “How to Beat the Aggressive Baseliner,” premieres on the Tennis Channel

-- Show will air May 19 at noon Eastern time --

"On Court with USPTA" is the cable TV show produced by the United States Professional Tennis Association. In this episode USPTA Master Professional Jorge Capestany shows viewers how they can compete against aggressive baseliners.

All players have encountered the aggressive baseliner that attacks with power and pace, forcing short rallies and hitting lots of winners. This type of opponent can make it very difficult to ever get in control of the point. However, Capestany will demonstrate how viewers can compete against this type of player using several tactics to disrupt the opponent and stall the aggression. These tips will help viewers frustrate the aggressive baseliner and force him/her to hit more errors.

The show covers the following:

• Moonballing

• Increasing footwork

• Isolating the weakness

• Coming to the net more

• Mixing up the pace

• Serving to the body

• Using more slice

Capestany graduated from Grand Valley State University in 1984, and is USTA Sports Science level 1-certified. In nearly 30 years in the industry, Jorge has created and directed lesson programs that have generated more than $1 million in annual revenue. He is a six-time Michigan Pro of the Year and a two-time Midwest Pro of the Year. Capestany has coached hundreds of ranked juniors including three national champions. He is also a USTA Recreational Coaches Workshop national trainer, a QuickStart national trainer and a member of the national Cardio Tennis speakers' team for the TIA. He is the founder of www.tennisdrills.tv - a video-based website that shows more than 800 videos of tennis drills and tips.

The USPTA became the first tennis-teaching organization ever to produce and air an educational television series on playing and teaching tennis on the Tennis Channel in 2003. Since then, more than 80 shows have been produced that provide instruction about technique, strategy and other facets of the game. All production is done in-house, which includes everything from planning and scripting, to shooting and editing, to graphics and DVD duplication. All episodes of "On Court" are now in high-definition.

Don't miss out on this episode. Tune in to the Tennis Channel on Saturday, May 19, at noon Eastern time to see the show.
